Louis Rwagaju
Humura Association
Louis Rwagaju is a seasoned leader whose career spans more than two decades at the intersection of governance, community resilience, and institutional development.
Holding a Master's degree in Social Sciences, Louis brings rigorous academic grounding to the work of building and sustaining organizations. Over more than 20 years, he has served in senior managerial roles across both public and private institutions, gaining deep expertise in governance, leadership, networking, business, and marketing — experience he has applied with particular purpose in the context of post-genocide society.
His work in the years following the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi reflects a lifelong commitment to rebuilding trust, fostering accountability, and creating frameworks that allow communities to heal while moving forward. Through diverse leadership positions, Louis has helped institutions navigate the complex demands of reconstruction, reconciliation, and long-term development.
As Vice President of Humura Association, Louis brings that same compassion and strategic vision to preserving the memory of survivors, advancing justice, and educating future generations. He plays a central role in shaping the organization's direction — contributing to leadership, regulatory compliance, program oversight, and the cultivation of a strong, engaged membership.
